Brunette Beauty - Plano High School Senior Pictures by Photographer Lisa McNiel

I saw pictures of Alyssa horsing around on her mother's social media page, and I immediately messaged her and asked if she thought Alyssa would be a Senior Model for me. She is such a beauty, and original, and quirky, and was a joy to put in front of my camera! As a photographer, I get the pleasure of watching younger brothers and sisters of kids I've photographed come into their own. I never knew it would be a part of following this obsessive passion of mine!

She is an introvert with a clever wit, and she played club volleyball until this year when she had to focus on her senior year, and classes at Plano High School, and getting ready to head to Fayetteville, Arkansas to go to University of Arkansas!

Marcus High School Cross Country Senior Pictures by photographer Lisa McNiel

I could tell you lots of facts about Noah... that he is the youngest of two sons, his mother a college professor and his father a financial planner, that he went to McAuliffe Elementary, Briarhill Middle School, and Marcus High School, and is looking at going to college at Washington State University and the University of Idaho.  He has been serious about Cross Country since early middle school and recently came in 1st in his age group and 16th overall in a Savage Race with 1047 men competing.

But what I really care about are my memories of him. I've been photographing high school seniors for 7 years and I'm still emotional about most of them. Noah has me positively sentimental! I've known this kid since first grade. He has spent many a night at my house, and my son at his. They have mourned the passing of Steve Irwin, as though he was a personal friend and teacher. They have done Adventure Guides, played with Pokemon cards, learned to drive, and talked girls. They have spent too many hours playing video games, but lots of hours playing outside and using their imagination. They, along with a few other close buddies, have enriched my life knowing them, and now the time approaches. The time when it's no longer a normal event for him to be sitting at my counter or on my family room floor. It will be Christmas or Summer or a special occasion. It seemed slow at the time, but fast looking back on it.

I'm proud of you, buddy, as I'm sure your parents and friends are!

I just love this of him making his mom laugh, even though I was losing light and telling him to stop making faces!

Flower Mound Marcus Student Athlete Senior Pictures by Photographer Lisa McNiel

I'm starting to think that there will be a steady stream of smart, studious, accomplished, athletic senior girls and guys in front of my camera. It seems that's the way it has been since I began, and just when I think it will surely end, I get another beautiful girl like Kelly. Ranking towards the top of her class at Marcus High School in Flower Mound, and serious about competing in tennis, she is absolutely delightful, charming, smiling, laughing, and I enjoyed our time together because of her charm!

I didn't get a chance to find out her favorite quote, but I follow her on twitter, and her byline says, "or as autocorrect calls me, 'Jelly Mowery'" and then she has Romans 8:28 which is one of my favorites.

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[a] have been called according to his purpose."

Beautiful Blond Marcus Tennis Player - Senior pics by Lisa McNiel

Beautiful Annika Nielsen, who looks like you would picture a girl with a name like Annika Nielsen to look if you were to imagine one in your head. Now imagine her to be smart and funny, a fun-loving, slightly goofy, tennis playing senior high school girl. Place her in a gaggle of loyal friends who are generally somewhat tired of high school, but know they'll miss it when they leave for UT, or OSU, or Texas A&M, or Tech, or UNT, or wherever they end up. They'll miss the car talks, the impromptu study nights, clubs, and gossip, the comfort of mom's hug and their own bed, a real meal, and siblings, and knowing what comes next.

But it's time for more and bigger adventures, which will make the reunions all the sweeter, though less frequent. Cherish your senior year, Annika. Don't wish it over too quickly!
