Senior Pictures for Girls who love Jesus, dresses, and shooting guns - by North Texas Photographer Lisa McNiel

Before I ever met Natalie Nelson I knew I would like her... I knew she would be easy to photograph because I had met her parents and as my grandpa used to say about cattle, "She comes from good stock."  But when I read the answers to some of the questions I sent her, I was hooked!

These are the activities she is involved in:  "Teaching kids at the Village and Redeemer Church, working out, mentoring 3rd grade girls, small group leader for international students and 5th grade girls."  The time, energy and selflessness involved in those activities warmed my heart, but it was also a little intimidating!

As I kept reading though, I realized that nobody would be pigeon-holing this girl with the self-described "big personality" into a safe, church-lady compartment.  Her favorite places to shop are White House Black Market, Bass Pro, Lifeway, and J. Crew.  So yes, this is the first time I photographed a senior girl who felt just as comfortable looking all tailored like Audrey Hepburn one minute, and posing with her shotgun the next!

She posed gracefully as mosquitoes gnawed at her face and arms, and just said, "It's not as bad as it was in Uganda," a place she would be happy to return to for the people she met and the God she serves.

She also rows competitively and has already been accepted to KU for next year.

In fact, she had to write up the sides of my form to get all of her favorite quotes in:
"I have learned to kiss the wave that throws me against the Rock of Ages." - C. Spurgeon

"Second place is first loser!"

2 Timothy 1:7 "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and love, and of a sound mind."

Hebrews 4:12 "For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to the dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart."

I tell you what, I would love to hang out with this girl... I'm just not sure I can keep up!

6 ways to get great family photos by Flower Mound Photographer Lisa McNiel

The image above will be a 20"x60" panoramic canvas hanging in the dining room of their new home.

After you have done a few poses that they know they want with all faces toward the camera, try putting your family in situations where they react and are spontaneous with each other.  You can direct some of the "spontaneity."

This bearded fellow is my nephew and I know WAY too much to tell his story here on the interwebs, so I will just show you his photos and give you some tips. :)

La Beau Chateaux Wedding with an All-American Twist

Intertwined fingers, frequent kisses and giggles indicate this couple's friendship, growth and romance remain strong through the trials of daily life.

Stephen and Meagan have a romantic history of holidays.  They met at a Halloween party and went for Starbucks and a walk in the park.  And their wedding day was the third of July, so they decided to go full-on red, white, and blue with the theme!  I get the impression that holidays and regular days are celebrated by Meagan's mom.  She could start a store with all the Pinterest-worthy ideas and hand-made items she put into the wedding.
