Three ways to make a trip to grandma’s house memorable

Three ways to make a trip to grandma’s house memorable

You may be a grandma, grandmother, GiGi, g-mom, Glamma, meema…

It doesn’t really matter what they call you.  What will live with them for the rest of their lives is the time they spent with you!  Here are three ways to make that great!

1.     Kitchen table night.  Remember your grandma’s kitchen table?  Me too.  It may be one of the sweetest memories I have.  Make cookies together, have a game night.  Just talk… at your kitchen table.

2.     Adrenaline Day:  Swimming, shopping, jungle gym, park, manicure.  Whatever gets you out together for an hour and gets your blood pumping will burn into their sweet little brains.
 3.     Schedule a photo shoot.  For you and for them.  Have you ever noticed that sometimes you remember things because there are pictures?  You can spend money on junk you have to take care of, or you can spend your money capturing the fleeting time in their life with you.

This glamma and g-dog had photos of their granddaughter and daughter taken while on a visit.

Business head shots that don’t look like Mug shots.

Business head shots that don’t look like Mug shots

If the only recent photo of you was taken with a phone, or at work against a white wall, like a mug shot, you should think about having some "real" pictures made! Marshall Embry needed some professional photos done and I asked him to bring some different sets of clothes so we could get a few different looks. For my single friends who will inevitably ask... Yes, he is single.

Three ways to make your wedding pictures tell your story:

Three ways to make your wedding pictures tell your story:

1.     Infuse it with your personality, your sense of humor, your ideas.  In this wedding the bride had the ring-bearers bring a sign down the aisle telling her husband it was his last chance to run!

2.     Tell your photographer about details that are meaningful to you.  This bride let her groom choose the wedding topper and wait until you see what he chose (wiping a tear from my eye)

3.     Give your photographer access to and awareness of those “behind the scenes” moments.  We have a  priceless photo of the grandfather of the bride praying for the couple after the “First Look” and before the ceremony with Joel T. Lomurno, Miranda Lomurno, and John Berwick.

Ready for Senior Pictures? Get your “model” on!

Ready for Senior Pictures?  Get your “model” on!

When is the next time you are going to get to do photos with imagination and variety?  If you will be taking senior pictures this year, think about different looks that say “YOU”  Think about flattering clothes, and colors, places that are sentimental to you, activities that have been special to you.

And then… (shhhhhhhhh) practice posing in the mirror.  I’m not kidding, do it!  And find a photographer you trust who brings out the best in everyone, not just stunning butterfy-eyed girls like Carly Tobias!
