Maddie didn't grow up in Texas, but she wanted to take advantage of the beautiful blue that covers parts of the state for a few weeks each Spring. Living in the DFW suburb of Flower Mound, the only place we were able to locate a patch large enough was the actual flower mound for which the city was named. The light was beautiful and I was thrilled to see her pull out that red satin formal because I knew I could light it to match the beauty of the flowers.

We finished with her passion for their horse. Though she's an equestrian, she opted to borrow my skirt and corset for a more dramatic look at sunset. She also did a few poses with her great-grandfather's gun for a vintage look.
She had a special spot in the woods near their home where she goes that she wanted to remember, so we spent a little time photographing there before heading to their house. They have a soaring and dramatic double staircase, which was the perfect backdrop for her stylish look.

If time allows, I love to get shots of senior guys and girls with their mom. This time it was especially fun because of the playful relationship between the two!
