Senior Pictures for Guys - Ice Hockey - by Photographer Lisa McNiel

Spencer has always been this cute and equally likable! I can literally think of five different people who have said, "I know Spencer!" with a big smile on their face, upon seeing his photo. I remember when he was just in kinder or 1st running around McAuliffe Elementary School in Highland Village, and through our home as a neighbor and friend of my youngest. He was in Adventure Guides, formerly known as Indian Guides before the YMCA decided that name was politically incorrect. The dads and sons would go camping together and hike, cook over campfires, explore, tell stories, get poison ivy, and make memories.

Spencer may have needed this time away more than some of the other boys as he is one of four children, and the only boy. Two older sisters and one younger to keep him civilized at home, he had to go do boy stuff at some point! So it made sense that he chose a fast, physical sport like ice hockey. He and his dad also play ping pong together and going to tournaments together. We incorporated his sport, hobby, school, and dog into his senior pictures, and although his family will miss him next year as he heads to Stillwater to attend Oklahoma State University, the trips home will be sweet.

Senior Pictures for Your Son by Flower Mound Photographer Lisa McNiel

Blake is one of those kids you always enjoy having around, looks you in the eye, visits easily with whoever wanders in or out of the conversation, observes and comments insightfully about what's going on, and helps out without being asked.

He just graduated from Flower Mound Marcus High School North of the Dallas Fort Worth area in Texas and plans to study at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, OK. We began his senior pictures in the Austin area a rainy week in March. As one of my son's closest friends, he came down to stay in a condo we were renting over Spring Break.

How he kept a straight face during the photo shoot I don't really know, because his friends were truly assisting with light, and generally having their own fun at his expense, as is the love language of teenage boys and perhaps most men everywhere. As the youngest of three sons, he's used to this and throws it right back out there.

Notice how great a suit looks in Senior pics for guys. When we do our pre-shoot consult, we go over what to wear, what to include in terms of interests, and locations to show off the man your son is becoming. If you're planning ahead for your senior son, think about including the purchase of a suit, or jacket and slacks.

Blake's senior year his Ultimate Frisbee Team took the state title in Texas, a state larger than France. I'm sure the Ultimate Frisbee coach at Oklahoma State is eager to start getting these Marcus kids up there.

Happy Blue-eyed Marcus Marquette Senior Pictures by Photographer Lisa McNiel

What to wear! Choosing colors and styles.

Claire is a cheerful, bubbly Flower Mound Marcus Marquette. Those of you on a Drill Team know what that means in terms of time commitment, camaraderie, sore muscles and Friday Night Lights!

She wore a blue shirt dress for when the Wisteria was in bloom. Since she was doing an "Inside Out" session, I recommended a white shirt for the backlit photos inside, and the white sofa, and terrific red heels and a red top with jeans for my grayish-blue background. We grabbed one of my red tulle skirt which was a perfect match for her top. A boho off-the-shoulder top brought out the terra cotta in the brick and the blue in her eyes.

At the second location she chose an ombre babydoll dress for the train tracks and a pond that gave us some killer reflections. Her best friend hopped in for a few and she threw on one of Claire's cream tops so they would coordinate.

One of my favorites was a metallic sequin mini she had worn to Homecoming. It picked up the late sun and flattered her figure, and looked super cute when she was giving the Texas Tech "Guns Up" on a vintage suitcase.

She had booked my Model For A Day session which includes a 3 hour sitting. So after all that, we had time to go to the lake where she donned her red sparkly uniform, cowboy hat and white boots and... got in the lake! And finally, she took advantage of my gold satin skirt and gold corset to get a sunset photo because she loves sunsets.
