Coppell Senior Pictures by Photographer Lisa McNiel

After communicating with Annie via email and Facebook, I was eager to meet her because she was so quirky and funny in her communiques.  I was not surprised to discover she is very intelligent and accomplished.  PLUS, the weekend before our photo session, she and her mom traveled to Nashville to run a half-marathon!  While there, the cleaning lad at the hotel room said, "it's nice to be important, but it's important to be nice"and she adopted it as her favorite quote."

She recently graduated from Coppell High School with honors.  Annie was involved in Red Jackets at CHS, babysat and worked at a barbecue place, in addition to being an honor student. "Other than that," she says, "I just hang out and sleep." Her favorite memory is either her "entire Israel Trip or... Any family vacation to the mountains."

I received the sweetest Thank You note from Miss Annie.  She is going to Tulane University in New Orleans this Fall.  I'm pretty sure she earned a full ride.

Plano Senior Pictures by Lisa McNiel

Sam drives a sweet red Miata.  He just got it when he sold in his motorcycle.  He plans to travel the country in it next year.  He wants to learn on the road, with a hungry mind and a stratospheric IQ, he is too prone to move to want to spend any more time siting in a classroom just yet.

He is a mountain climber, so when I asked him if he would mind crossing a stream and climbing a tree, he was all in, then he gracefully moved around a trailer full of brush with cat-like movements.

He and his mom brought along a family friend who is like his second mom and we got pictures with her as well.  The banter between the three of them made me feel like I was missing out on a lot of good impromptu kitchen-table laughs.

When we pulled out the flag and he started posing with it at the end, (why do boys always give me their best expression and posing at the end?) I was hearing a Bruce Springsteen song in my head...

Sam is funny.  I'm really glad I got to spend a couple of hours with him!

Beautiful Colleyville Senior Pictures by Photographer Lisa McNiel

Katellyn is the youngest of six children, five daughters and one son.

I am guessing her dad kept busy running interference for all those beautiful daughters!  Her older sister was literally a model in New York City before settling into mommy mode.

Katelyn's mom was working during her shoot, so I didn't meet her until the viewing session.  I guess I was expecting someone who looked like she had done the hard work of raising all of those children.  A stunning blue-eyed brunette with faint laugh lines and a soft, sweet voice came to the door and I had to stop myself from asking who she was.

Being a dancer, Katelyn was more concerned with the way her hands, feet and form looked in the images than anything else.  Her favorite memory is is her dance team winning Nationals two years in a row.  Her favorite quote is "It is better to be hated for what you are than to be loved for what you are not."

She will be joining two of her older sisters as a Sooner at OU this Fall!

Choosing the High Road - Senior Pictures by Photographer Lisa McNiel

This is what Sarah's mom wrote about her. How can I add anything else?

Despite stress at home, Sarah is in the top 10% of her class, in four honor societies, President of Circle of Friends
(she will be attending UNT next year in pursuit of becoming a Special Ed Teacher), is a Small Group Bible Study
Leader to 7th grade girls at our Church, has straight A's this semester, in her 10th year of piano lessons and also
helps coach a Club Soccer Team that includes underprivileged boys. Sarah is always doing something for someone else.
Last Friday she took three foreign exchange girls from Marcus shopping at Grapevine Mills and then to the movies. Last
Thursday she took two of her 7th grade girls for ice cream after school. During Spring Break, she took a girl with special
needs to the dollar movies for her birthday.  When the girls grandma invited her to join them for a birthday dinner, Sarah
canceled her plans for the evening to spend time with her special needs friend. Her friend told Sarah "it was the best
birthday ever". Sarah has a heart of gold and deserves to have something special.
